1 In order to install the larger diameter shower plumbing, I had to cut through this slab of really hard concrete. |
2 The slab is 100mm (4 inches) thick, but the footings go down near all the way to China. |
3 Concrete wasn't the only thing get cut. |
4 You wouldn't read about it, but I didn't even notice my shoe had been cut, by the angle grinder, until I took them off. |
5 After this, no more runners while working on the house. I've put my steel capped boots back into service. |
6 This is where the existing fllor drain that I'll use for the shower and vanity will eventually end up. |
7 Now, I've seen some scary sites over the years I've renovated houses ..... |
8 ..... but this takes the cake. Something has chewed through the insulation and exposed the bare wires. |

10 You can also see where the white insulation has darkend, this is caused by the bare wires touching. |
11 Talk about a fire waiting to happen!!! Needless to say I ripped all the wiring out in the lower level and replaced it all. |
